Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This restaurant serves tasty dishes . Always make it a point to dine there for its crispy small fish. Service is fast and they can be busy on weekends. The nutmeg juice is a must try."
"A local more toward family style cooking restaurant. Food taste more like home cooking style instead of restaurant style. Price is quite reasonable. Plenty of parking space outside the restaurant. It is not air conditioned."
"Yeh Lin Seafood is a hidden gem if you’re looking for good local-style seafood without breaking the bank. The food is flavourful, cooked with that classic Malaysian taste, and comes in generous portions. It’s definitely not fancy, but what it lacks in decor, it makes up for in taste and value. Prices are very reasonable, making it a great spot for casual dinners with family or friends. If you're in the mood for local seafood that's cheap, tasty, and satisfying, Yeh Lin is worth checking out!"
"Yeh Lin Seafood Steamboat is a nice place to go if you’re craving a warm, comforting meal without any fuss. One of the first things you’ll notice is how easy it is to park. There’s plenty of parking around, so you don’t have to stress or waste time driving in circles. This already makes the whole dining experience more enjoyable, especially if you’re coming with family or friends. The prices here are very reasonable. For the portion sizes and quality of food you get, it really feels worth the money. You can order a good variety of dishes without worrying that the bill will be too high. It’s a great spot for regular meals, group gatherings, or even a simple dinner when you just want something satisfying and filling. Food-wise, the highlight is definitely the curry. The curry is tasty, rich, and full of flavour. It’s not too spicy, but it has enough depth to make the steamboat really enjoyable. Once the seafood and other ingredients are cooked in the curry, everything tastes even better. The flavour is comforting and well-balanced, making you want to keep going back for more. The seafood is fresh, and the vegetables and other items cook nicely in the broth. Everything feels clean and well-prepared. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, perfect for sitting around the table, chatting, and enjoying your meal at your own pace. Service is generally smooth and friendly, so you don’t feel rushed. Overall, Yeh Lin Seafood Steamboat is a solid choice if you’re looking for easy parking, reasonable prices, and a really tasty, flavourful curry. It’s a simple, no-frills place with good food that hits the spot."
"Getting to this restaurant requires a bit of extra attention, as it’s easy to miss the turn off the main road. The place is quite well hidden and not immediately obvious at first glance. There is a signboard along the main road pointing the way, but you’ll still need to slow down and keep an eye out for it. The road leading into the restaurant is fairly rough, so those driving smaller or lower cars should take extra care. Once you reach the parking area, it feels fine during the morning or afternoon. However, at night, the atmosphere can be a little unsettling as the area isn’t well lit. With tall grass and weeds around the parking lot, and minimal lighting, it can feel quite creepy after dark. There are also quite a lot of mosquitoes in the evening, which can be annoying when you’re trying to enjoy your meal. Ordering here is done manually, and the food arrived surprisingly fast, so there wasn’t much waiting around. The service overall was good, friendly and efficient. What really stood out to me was the owner himself, who was still personally serving dishes and rice despite being in a wheelchair. That kind of hard work and dedication is truly admirable and deserves a lot of respect. As for the food, it was genuinely delicious as it is well-cooked, fresh, and served in generous portion sizes across all the dishes we tried. Overall, it’s a place I’d happily visit again, especially in the morning or afternoon when the environment feels more comfortable. That said, I’d probably avoid coming for dinner due to the lighting and mosquito issues mentioned above."
"Very traditional Chinese food and traditional restaurant. My grandmothers siblings run the place. Large land with lots of parking. Cooled air from the forest runs through the restraunt. Cows are here if you want fresh milk."
"we order 5 dish and 8 glasses of drink. get Supprise when done pymt. price reasonable. taste is very good for curry ikan pari. kam xeong fried seashell taste so so. drink nutmeg is superd good taste drink."
"Super good value seafood! Massive prawns and great tasting tuak (coconut liquor). Teowchew style chinese dishes are fair. Service is decent and food came out reasonably swiftly considering they only have one cook. Staff are fairly accommodating and let us swap chairs to fit more people onto the same table. Parking is aplenty front and back. Nice, secluded spot out past Balik Pulau."
